Celebrate the intimate pleasures of the Tuscany countryside with Love Your Spirit Tours, “Harvest Moon”, cultural excursion, back into the Renaissance. Our retreat is an experience of a life time designed to take our guests through the rolling hills of Tuscany. The Grape Harvest is one of the most beautiful times to visit Tuscany. Come stump on grapes, eat local artesian foods, learn the science of wine making and explore Florence, Siena and the Tuscan country side.
ItineraryDAY 1 ~ Travel & Welcome Orientation
Transfer by private car to the Tuscan Renaissance Center in the heart of Tuscany. Our evening is set aside for a specially prepared Italian dinner by our private chef at an old monastery dating back to 1230 AD.
DAY 2 ~ Harvest Celebration
A morning mediation is offered overlooking the Tuscan hills. After our morning meal we will visit local shops between the towns of Vagliagli and Radda in the Chianti Region. We will explore the Chianti region and spending the evening at a Chianti Winery for tour, tasting and dinner, surrounded by the sweet aromas of grapes and taking in the wonder around us.
DAY 3 ~ Siena
Our excursion into the past with a blend of harmonious urban and country lifestyles, Siena is one of the most beautiful cities in Tuscany away from the quiet rolling hills, olive groves and country orchids. Siena magnificent ensemble of medieval palaces, cathedrals and towers and a soaring skyline will take your breath away. Siena was built on three hills surrounded by well-preserved walls, the city is filled with fine examples of Gothic architecture and ancient buildings. Our journey backwards through time, will captivate our senses, as we walk through winding alleyways surrounding the unique and world famous Piazza del Campo (the shell shaped area with scalloped edges that is the heart of the city,) or climbing the steep steps to view treasures of art, as it was in medieval times adding a feeling of antiquity.
DAY 4 ~ Stomp that Grape
Stomp that Grape. “Hand vs Foot” - Pigeage, a method dating back to the 3rd century CE of a Roman Harvest party, will be an adventure, best depicted in the “I Love Lucy” episode where we will part take in the ancient method of extracting juice from grape to wine?
DAY 5 ~ Taste of Tuscany, Cooking Class
Bon Appetite, - Enjoy a rewarding day in the unique spacious kitchen of the Renaissance masterpiece in San Fedele with hands on cooking lessons with Chef Andrea who will teach you all the tricks and techniques of the Authentic Tuscan cuisine from the family collection.
DAY 6 ~ Firenze
Our excursion today will take us to the birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence (Firenze). Possibly the most beautifully preserved and artistically rich city in the world. Here, artistic treasures and architectural masterpieces of the past blend with ancient streets lined with elegant boutiques, peaceful parks, and street side cafes offering hot expresso with fresh biscotti, with breathtaking views at every turn. Set in a valley on the banks of the Arno, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, Florence (Firenze) is one of the best-known and best-loved cities of the world. Striking buildings, treasure-filled galleries and ancient churches attest to the nature of the Florentines to proudly display their riches for all to enjoy. We will visit on our 3 hour city walking tour: i) Piazza della Signoria --The heart of the city's political life for centuries and home to some of Florence's most beautiful buildings. ii) Palazzo Vecchio, the long-established seat of Florentine government, built by Arnolfo di Cambio between 1298 and 1314. iii) Galleria degli Uffizi in the Palazzo degli Uffizi , arguably one of the most outstanding art galleries on the earth displaying rooms filled with treasures by Giotto, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Van Dyck, Durer, and Tintoretto. iv) Galleria dell' Academia, home to Michelangelo's David, the truly breathtaking masterpiece sculpted from a single block of marble, and the Museum del Bargello where the country's best collection of Tuscan Renaissance sculpture is on view.
DAY 7 ~ Villages of Tuscany
After our morning meditation we will explore Radda, a beautiful medieval village tucked away on a hill covered with woods and extensive vineyards forming the watershed between the Pesa and Arbia valleys. This village, once under control by the Florentine Guidi Family will be a chance to take in the architecture from 1203, like walking through the 14th century.
Day 8 Departure
After our last breakfast together, a group transfer to Florence or individual transfers to Siena is provided – depending on travel plans.
